20th Day in Romania/Thursday Morning at the Clinic...

The first news of the morning.. and the best of the whole day... was that little Maria had been taken into Bucharest to see a surgeon about doing surgery for her hydrocephalus!! I am so excited to hear the results of today's visit and if the doctor feels like he will be able to help her! Keep praying for her -- the prayers have obviously done a lot of good in keeping her alive this long and bringing about this opportunity! Sunday she will be one year old! :-)

After doing the baby shuffle and getting all the non-mobiles outside I snuck into the pre-school room to watch the teacher in action. I know how to pronounce her name but have no idea how to spell it! I'll ask tomorrow! This woman is a natural born teacher.. she was all over the room taking care of everything that needed to be done! The kids are very fortunate to have her!

The teacher was working with Ionela on coloring. She had Ionela color on the book but she was also naming all the pictures and colors for Ionela to repeat. It was great!

Maiastra

Sami

The preschool teacher comforting Maiastra after Sami threw something and hit her. He really has a problem with throwing toys. :-(

Sami again -- he has seemed a little sad since his return from the hospital in Barlad. :-(

Alexandra with her books! This is where you can always find this kid! Notice below she is reading one of the books I brought over.

Sami is also reading one of the Sesame Street books I brought over.

And the preschool teacher is reading one of the A Bear, a Bug, and a Book books I brought to Maiastra. Great to see the things I brought truly being used!

Eventually I made my way outside. Even though it is hot outside it is hotter in the clinic! We have enjoyed the last 2 days outside!

Andrei, the birthday boy

Alina, front and center, Lea-Celine behind her.. and Ema and Petre in the bouncies

Ion escaped! It was hilarious... he did his little military crawl out onto the grass and was actually about 5 or 6 feet away from the blanket. We watched and just let him explore. He eventually started back...

THEN he ate a leaf! LOL But Paula could see it in his mouth and kept trying to get it out. Finally with Ali holding him she was able to get the leaf out of his mouth. We were afraid if he pooped it out later they would tell us we couldn't go back outside! :-)

Mihaela and Baby Andreea sharing a swing. Andreea actually fell asleep in the swing -- it was precious!

Gabi taking her morning nap...

and Ema taking her morning nap! LOL

Marius laughing like a mad man as Ali tickled him!

The twins side by side.. it is so hard to get pictures of them together

Another of my favorite aides, Coca... she is taking Gabi in for a diaper change. She is funny and sweet and actually tries to communicate with us.
