34th Day in Romania/ Thursday at the Clinic

Thursday must have been gypsy day in Tutova and Barlad! On our way to the clinic Thursday morning a caravan of 5 or 6 gypsy wagons passed directly in front of the hotel! By the time I grabbed my camera out of my bag and consulted with my teammates (trying to determine if the gypsies would come hunt me down for taking their pictures) I only caught the last wagon.

Luckily though part of the caravan stopped just down the road at the Tiff Market and I was able to take this picture using zoom! I'm not sure why I am fascinated with gypsies -- I think it is their carefree attitude and seeming lack of responsibilities! :-)

a baby turkey across the street from the hotel...
there were several but the white one really stood out!

Delia and Dan walked with us to the clinic this morning --
what a great dad and daughter photo

Andrei having his bottle

Andreea having her morning bottle... it probably seems a little weird seeing the babies lying on the floor having their bottles but other than Ema, Petre, and Daniela this is the way the babies are most comfortable eating. Sad, isn't it?

I was able to take bottle pictures because Nicoletta fed Ema this morning.
Nicoletta is an angel in disguise.

Sweet Alina, Thumbalina... sitting sideways in the Bumbo chair

Cristi and Alina with the loudest toy on earth!

Ema holding a rattle. If you jiggle her hand you get the smile below :-) I cannot tell you how wonderful that smile is to see!

Maria hanging out with the non-mobiles

Petre taking a snooze.

Ion smiley as usual

Daniela getting some practice sitting up using the Bumbo chair.

Marius

Lea-Celine in one of the unused bedrooms... being her charming self!

Each bedroom... actually each room.. is painted with a different mural.

Amy, aka Stretch, being herself -- she can actually touch her tongue to her nose... AND she stole my sunglasses!!

A cool camper van that was outside the hotel

We ate dinner on the terrace at the Arcadia in Barlad. I took this crazy shot into the glass window which was reflecting the table.

My roommate Stephanie and I... not sure why my camera picks up the sun in those streaks!
I love this picture if it wasn't for that!

Part of our family style dinner

After dinner a couple of people asked to drive by the gypsy "king's" house. There really is no formal gypsy king but there is a self appointed king... and an emperor... and a president! LOL
This gypsy lady was standing across the street -- she stepped out from behind the fence as we drove past the house... maybe she is a guard who informs the "king" who drives by his house.

The gypsy king's house from the bus... better pictures can be found in the archives from Dec/Jan.

The InterEx supermarket... we stop here almost every time we are in town for snacks! :-)
