26th Day in Romania/Wednesday Afternoon & Evening at the Clinic

More sad news from Tutova.. around 11am this morning Dr. Delia's father died. At about the same time, 2 health inspectors arrived at the clinic. The health inspection went well but we are all sorry for Dr. Delia's loss.

Since we had not yet been informed of Dr. Delia's loss we had a wonderful lunch of Hungarian goulash and cucumbers in vinegar (I think... they almost tasted like bread and butter pickles but crisp and fresh from the garden).

After bottle time at the clinic we did a few exercises with the kids... Becca was helping Gabi learn how to find her balance. Cristi and Ion just like the ball! :-) Mihaela came into the room and sang several delightful Romanian children's songs while she exercised Cristi's legs and arms.

Andre is doing a great job with sitting up!

I swear Ion is going to be a photographer when he grows up! He is always after the camera!! That is why I never have any good pics of him!! LOL

My sweet Ema... the pictures of her are few and far between because I am ALWAYS holding her and it is hard to take a picture of a baby you are holding LOL

Okay, so I'm not ALWAYS holding her! Here Becca is trying to show me how to use the exercise ball with Ema.. but she wasn't too fond of it!

I went back to the clinic at 7:30 for my shift. Most of the kiddos were in the mobile room so Ema and I went there to hang out for the night.
Here Ionela is using a wipe I stole to clean up Ema's food covered face as a kleenex. Ionela loves to pretend to sneeze and is learning to wipe her nose! Too cute!

Lea-Celine wants to be just like Ionela. She tries her best to imitate her! Ionela and Lea-Celine are definitely competing to see who can be alpha dog at the clinic. They are both extremely jealous of one another. Lea-Celine will try to share with Ionela though. Ionela, however, will just take whatever Lea-Celine has and give her nothing in return!

Lea-Celine is one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen but sadly she either isn't very photogenic or I am a crappy photographer because I am never happy with any of my photos of her! I decided to take multiples all evening to try to capture the essence of Lea-Celine... these are as close as I could get!

Alina enjoyed playing at the texture wall in the mobile room.

Andreea just sat around and took everything in -- she wasn't sure what to think about all those big kids running around.

Mihaela being her wild and crazy self! :-)

Sami.. who knows how he got that shirt off but he did. Look at his nice black eye... not sure how that happened either -- only that it happened after we left Tuesday afternoon and was shining when we arrived Wednesday morning.

Trent, one of the volunteers at the high school, comes to the clinic for the late shift to see the babies. He has a personal blog also if you would like to get his perspective of what is happening at the high school. www.trentongabriel.wordpress.com

Andreea and Andrei being their happy selves!
