Weekend Trip (1/4/09) - Back to Iasi

On the drive back to Iasi from Moldova we passed this sledding hill & tons of people having cookouts! LOL Bizarre but true!

Below a pharmacy in Iasi

The Iulius Mall in Iasi.. this is the mall where we ate dinner our first night in Iasi.. a happenin' place if only because it is so cold outside!

Kim and her Springfields LOL

The crosswalks are so cute.. the little man actually walks! And there is a timer so you know how fast you need to walk.. have I mentioned how crazy Romanians drive??

After making a mad rush back to Iasi to try to catch the 3pm train we first made a detour to Carrefour to try to find a toy we all wanted for the clinic (kind of an a-frame mobile that the kids could play with while lying on their backs)... I was in heaven! Carrefour is the closest thing to a Target I have seen in Romania.. but we had maybe 10 minutes total to park the car run in and purchase the toy... I debated heading back to Iasi this weekend just to go to Carrefour!!! LOL

Although we were zooming through the city to try to make it to the train station on time I still managed to snap a few pictures of cool buildings... Updating the blog makes me want to STOP taking pictures LOL When trying to put pictures on the blog the internet is so slow! I need to take fewer pics!!!

We finally arrived at the train station.. Radu got flustered for the first time all weekend as the taxi in front of us refused to move and we all knew we had less than 5 minutes to buy tickets and jump on the train... Radu and Evan stayed at the ticket window and the rest of us ran to the train-- ready to jump on when Evan made her appearance with the tickets!

Success! Evan and Radu hurry down the terminal and we are able to make this train! We are all starving because we skipped lunch but we are happy we will be back at our home away from home soon!
